Nancy Folbre

teaches economics at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, in the U.S. Her work explores the interface between feminist theory and political economy, with a particular focus on care work both inside and outside the market economy. She is the author of The Invisible Heart: Economics and Family Values, and Who pays for the Kids? Gender and the structures of constraint (London/New York 1994). She is an associate editor of the journal Feminist Economics.
